I started likening it and Ringo and me every night would call each other to find a server to play on, but could never really find a server where we both pinged well on. Ventrillo and none of that chat stuff was around then. There was Roger Wilco, but it sucked. About this time I told JesseJames and Mojo about the game and I do believe they started playing along with Ringo's brother Billy the Kid. Bio Clan had a few servers and one was 24/7 Cane and I lived there everyday and even met some of the current TxM members there.
Well to shorten this up Ringo and me got together and formed a clan and we debated on the name and came up with Texas Militia. At about that time we wanted our own server so we rented a private server. It's all we had and I recruited a few guys from the BIO server. I had been playing there for awhile by then and knew them because they like me were always there. Well we had a few members by this time and had our own server, but it was private. So again we were pretty much in the same boat, not enough people to actually go on our own server and just play. Ringo and me got together and said lets go public. At this time we had JJ, Mojo, Hypnotic Jester, Odessa, Kayin, John Hardin, Kracker, Col Nolte, Mad Dog Tanner, and Mortal Patriot.
When that server went public we started to grow and grow. A little later down the line HJ said he had a brother-in-law that was going to start playing so be nice to him and that's when we met Snipper and he instantly fits right in with all these egos. Well Snip wants to be part of this clan and like always he was family to one of the original members so that was cool. No recruitment necessary and he wanted to be more involved so he became an admin. About this time I think we had 2 or 3 public servers and Snip had some buddies who had 2 of there own servers. They teamed up with TxM and we now had a total of 7 yes 7 DoD servers and we couldn't keep up with the demand of the people wanting in TxM. We had at all times around 35 people in boot camp.
Boot camp was split into 4 teams and they had their own inner clan league. We were well into league play by this time and doing pretty good. We had a select few playing matches, Ringo nor me weren't included. We just weren't able to do it. We wanted the best in there and we weren't the best. So for the clan we did not play in matches.
Well a lot of things went down. Snip and his buddies left TxM and AV was formed and they were very successful. TxM was kind of on the edge people leaving some going with Snip some staying. Xavier was an admin and when the split happened he stayed loyal to his clan and became the webpage and server guru. Best server man we ever have had and puts up with me so he's got a lot of patience. A lot of people said TxM was dead. That was in 2002 and we are still here.
Snip still remains friends and he and his family came from Georgia to meet us guys here in Waco. Well there was this young guy in the clan by the name of Who Flung Dung. Me and him usually talked a lot and we became pretty good friends. We still are today. TxM is now back on its feet with 2 dod servers still going and He started to get involved and he wanted to bring in his brother and that was granted and that was Gunner and we go along and we decide to drop league play and I do believe they wanted to continue and them boys had there own server and had started playing BF now and dod. Well as things happen we now have a 2nd split going on and now Para247 is formed this happed not to long after the AV split and once again rumors started floating that TxM would fall and once again we proved all doubters wrong. Well about this time we had Quigley in the clan and she I think just got tired of all these things going on and she too had a server and when she left her server left and Dbt was formed. There have been a few more clans that were started from former TxM members but the three mentioned above are still going strong. I believe a total of 5 different clans have been created from former members of TxM with the 3 remaining active. TxM has been thru it all and has been written off many times and we are still standing strong.
When we started this clan we had one belief we were here to have fun and competitive play was never meant to be part of this clan but as the clan grew we had members wanting to play in leagues so we did it for them. TxM will remain in tact we have a core group that is the most loyal people in the world. As of now we are bigger than we have ever been and have expanded into 3 different games with more to be added in the future. For all of you that think it is easy to hold together you just don't know. We are one of the oldest DOD clans still remaining and will continue to stay that way.
